Projul Review: Project Management for Roofers (Roofing Software Guide)

Projul Review 2026: Project Management for Roofers

Updated September 24, 2026

Projul prints its prices on its website, which several of the biggest names in contractor software still won’t do. That alone separates it from quote-only competitors like AccuLynx and JobNimbus. The bigger question for a roofer is whether a general construction platform can keep up with how roofing jobs actually move: fast leads, photo-heavy estimates, packed crew calendars and insurance paperwork. This Projul review answers that question from a roofing contractor’s point of view.

Quick Answer

Projul is a solid flat-rate construction management software pick for roofing companies that want CRM, estimating, scheduling, invoicing and job costing in one place without per-user fees. Plans cost $4,788, $7,188 or $14,388 a year, billed annually only. It earns an RSG Score of 8.3 (RSG Silver). Roofers who depend on insurance work or aerial measurements should look harder at roofing-native tools.

RSG Verdict

Projul is straightforward project management for roofing contractors. You get published flat-rate pricing, no per-user fees and support that users consistently praise. Budget for Core+ ($7,188 a year) to get job costing and change orders. Pair it with a separate measurement tool, because Projul lists no roof-measurement integration.

Projul Review Summary: What You Need to Know in 2026

Projul is all-in-one construction management software with flat-rate pricing. You pay one annual price, with no per-user fees and unlimited projects. Projul says more than 5,000 contractors use it, and roofing contractors are one of the specialties it names.

We give it an RSG Score of 8.3 (RSG Silver) under our scoring rubric. Its best marks are Ease of Use, Pricing Value and Support, at 8.5 each. Its weakest are Features (8.0) and Roofing-Specific (8.1).

What users like:

  • Ease of use that less software-friendly crews will actually accept
  • Template-driven estimating that speeds up bids
  • Responsive live support, with phone, email and video chat included

What users flag:

  • Reporting that needs improvement
  • A thin written knowledge base
  • A real learning curve for less tech-savvy staff

Most Projul reviews treat it as generic contractor software. The rest of this review measures it against roofing work specifically: per-slope photos, supplier pricing, crew calendars and insurance documentation.

What Is Projul and Who Is It Built For?

Projul was built by a construction company owner who, in the company’s words, was “tired of overpaying for clunky software.” It is based in Saint George, Utah, and describes itself as young and self-funded.

The platform covers the whole job under one login:

  • A roofing CRM for leads
  • Estimating software with templates and eSignatures
  • Crew scheduling
  • Invoicing with payment processing
  • Job costing

The mobile app puts the same tools in the field.

Projul pitches itself to everyone from 5-person crews to enterprises with more than 1,000 employees. Its specialty list includes roofing, siding, gutter and restoration contractors, alongside remodelers, electricians and general contractors. That breadth is the selling point, and also the catch: roofing is one vertical among dozens.

That self-funding is also why, according to Projul’s own FAQ, it can’t currently offer a monthly option.

Projul Pricing 2026: How Much Does Projul Cost?

Projul pricing is public and simple. There are three plans. All are billed annually, and all come with no per-user fees and unlimited projects. Here is what the Projul pricing page shows as of September 2026:

Core

$4,788/yr
  • CRM, estimating, templates, eSignatures
  • Invoicing and payment processing
  • Scheduling and calendars
  • Full mobile app, photo markup and galleries
  • Up to 20 subcontractor profiles

Pro

$14,388/yr
  • Everything in Core+
  • Unlimited users
  • QuickBooks Desktop integration
  • Purchase orders and assemblies
  • Geofencing, daily logs, photo reports
  • Schedule conflicts, Spanish app translation

Spread over twelve months, that works out to $399 a month for Core, $599 for Core+ and $1,199 for Pro. You pay the full year up front, and there is no monthly option. Projul accepts ACH or any major credit card.

Watch for the plan-fit trap. Core does not include job costing, change orders or time tracking. For a roofer, change orders are what save the margin when you tear off shingles and find bad decking. That makes Core+ the realistic starting point for most roofing companies.

User limits are the other thing to check. Unlimited users appear only on Pro, and Projul does not publish user limits for Core or Core+. Its FAQ says only that you will be prompted when adding employees would move you to another plan.

Every annual plan includes the Premium Support Package, which Projul values at $4,500. It covers workflow analysis, system customization, a training plan, data import, and support by phone, email and video chat. Veterans get 5% off. On Core+, that is $359.40 off, which brings the price to $6,828.60.

Watch Out Projul’s integrations page says that at $4,788 a year your whole team gets access to every integration, with no premium tier required. The pricing page lists QuickBooks Online under Core+ and QuickBooks Desktop under Pro. We follow the pricing page. Get the plan-by-plan integration list in writing during your Projul demo.

Is Projul expensive? That depends on how many people you have. A flat price rewards companies with growing crews. On the other hand, some reviewers call Projul very expensive, and at $7,188 a year for the plan most roofers need, a two-person shop will feel it.

No free trial is advertised. Projul offers a demo with no credit card required, but you cannot click around on your own before committing to a full year.

One more thing to check before you sign. A few reviewers warn that data is lost after cancelling. Ask how you would export customers, estimates, photos and invoices before you sign, not after. We run the numbers further in our Projul pricing breakdown.

Projul Features Review: The Full Roofing Workflow

Roofing CRM and Lead Tracking

The CRM pulls in leads through a lead capture form embedded on your website. A form filled out on Saturday night is waiting in your pipeline on Monday.

As of November 2025, the Leads report shows totals for both approved and rejected estimates, broken out by dollar amount and location. For a roofer, that is the fastest way to spot a zip code where your price keeps losing.

Template-Driven Estimating

Every plan builds estimates from templates. Reviewers consistently credit the templates with faster, better-looking bids.

One detail roofers will like is the toggle between itemized and distilled sections. The homeowner sees a clean total while you track every cost line behind it.

Since November 2025, mobile users can take photos straight from an estimate and attach them to the estimate itself or to individual cost lines. Assemblies, which are reusable groups of cost items, are Pro only.

Crew Scheduling and Timelines

Scheduling is drag-and-drop on every plan. Core+ adds Gantt charts and linear project timelines. When weather pushes a job, you can slide the whole project schedule instead of moving tasks one at a time.

A November 2025 timeline overhaul made navigation easier. It added a “jump to today” button and a “jump to oldest task” control, and it lets you scroll into past dates without unlocking the timeline first. Automatic detection of double-booked crews (Schedule Conflicts) is Pro only.

Invoicing, Payments and QuickBooks Sync

Payment processing runs through JustiFi, so clients can pay by card or ACH from a link in their invoice email. Projul says those payments record automatically. Progress billing on Core+ lets you bill by milestone or percentage, which suits deposit-then-completion roof jobs.

The QuickBooks sync is two-way. Projul says it syncs customers, invoices, payments and time entries. QuickBooks Online connects from Projul’s settings in about five minutes. QuickBooks Desktop needs a setup call with Projul support.

Two small invoicing fixes shipped in fall 2025:

  • Clearer remaining balances on discounted invoices (October 2025)
  • A Draft Invoiced Total field on the Project Summary document (November 2025)

Job Costing Tools

Core+ adds construction financials, job costing and budgeting, and Projul builds a budget for each project automatically. Walk through a real roof job’s budget during your demo so you can judge it yourself.

Projul for Roofing: How It Performs for Roofing Contractors

Based on the feature set, here is how a typical retail reroof would move through Projul:

  1. Lead: The homeowner fills out the form on your site, and the lead lands in the CRM.
  2. Estimate: Your estimator builds the estimate from a template on the mobile app and attaches photos to each cost line. The soft decking photo goes on the decking line. The flashing photo goes on the flashing line.
  3. Materials: Projul’s material supplier integrations with SRS, Beacon (now QXO), GAF and ABC Supply let you pull pricing and order materials, according to Projul.
  4. Schedule: On Core+, the signed estimate converts to tasks with one click, and those tasks go on the drag-and-drop calendar.
  5. Field: Crew photos land on the project, either in Projul directly or through the CompanyCam sync.
  6. Invoice: The final invoice goes out with a pay link.

The photo-to-estimate attachment is the most useful roofing feature here. When a homeowner questions a line item, the photo sits right next to it. The supplier list is also a real plus, because those are the distributors and the manufacturer roofers deal with every week.

The gap is measurements. Projul lists no EagleView, Hover, Roofr or other roof-measurement integration. Its 1build integration runs AI takeoffs from uploaded plans. That helps on new construction bids with blueprints, but it does little for a reroof where you are measuring an existing roof. Plan on keeping a separate measurement tool and entering the numbers by hand.

Crew tracking features are split across plans. Time tracking starts on Core+. Geofenced clock-in, daily logs and photo reports are Pro only.

Daily logs earn their keep when you need a dated record of site conditions and safety steps, such as the requirements in OSHA’s fall protection standards. If you already pay for CompanyCam, keep it: photos sync into Projul projects. CompanyCam’s help center covers the photo side.

Insurance Claims and Supplement Workflow: Does Projul Cover It?

For storm and insurance roofers, the claim is the job. You need dated photos, a clean record of scope changes, and a way to show an adjuster what you found. Supplements succeed or fail on documentation.

Projul gives you pieces of that workflow:

  • Photos tied to specific estimate cost lines (mobile, as of November 2025)
  • Change orders to document added scope (Core+)
  • Customer-facing project change history, cleaned up in October 2025 when technical ETags were removed from the client view
  • Daily logs and photo reports (Pro)

We found no supplement-specific tools, Xactimate-style estimating or adjuster workflow on Projul’s own pages. Its integrations page mentions insurance claims only in passing, as one reason to keep job photos and documentation organized.

Our take: Projul can work as the project and billing backbone for insurance jobs. Pair it with CompanyCam for photos and a dedicated process for supplements. Our guide to writing roofing supplements with software covers that side.

Pro Tip If insurance work is more than a third of your revenue, bring a real claim file to your demo. Ask Projul’s team to show exactly how the photos, change orders and client history would support a supplement request.

Projul Product Updates: What Shipped in 2025 and 2026

Projul posts dated build notes on its release notes blog, and it ships often: 28 builds between January 9 and August 27, 2026. Every item on that page is live. Nothing is marked as upcoming.

Recent changes that matter to a roofing crew (August 2026):

  • Budget stays current (Build 2.1.269, August 27): the project budget now reflects the latest estimate and change order edits right away, without waiting for a background sync.
  • Purchase orders and deliveries (Build 2.1.269): a new purchase order auto-selects the vendor or subcontractor you just created, and the “Received by” field on daily log deliveries suggests employee names. Purchase orders and daily logs are Pro features.
  • Scheduling and daily logs (Build 2.1.268, August 25): a one-tap button assigns workers to unscheduled tasks, a new “All time” task filter shows past-due and upcoming tasks together, and new daily logs default to the project manager as owner.
  • Project naming (Build 2.1.268): choose whether new projects are named after the client, the job-site street address, or left blank.
  • Invoices and QuickBooks (Build 2.1.266, August 18): paid invoices show the client’s payment history by default, and QuickBooks sync error messages are clearer.

Late 2025 highlights:

  • October 2025 (Build 2.1.211): Cleaner customer-facing change history, clearer balances on discounted invoices, and phone and email labels (Mobile, Office, Billing) in search results.
  • November 2025 (Build 2.1.213): Mobile photo-to-estimate attachment, Leads report totals and the Draft Invoiced Total field.
  • November 2025 (Build 2.1.214): Descriptive photo filenames and the project timeline overhaul.
  • December 2025 (Build 2.1.216): Backend upgrades for more database capacity, plus proactive monitoring to catch performance issues early.

The photo filename change is a small but useful improvement. Photos taken in the app now carry the project ID, a timestamp and the user’s initials instead of random numbers. When you pull photos for an adjuster or a warranty claim, you know which job they belong to, when they were taken and who took them.

The December capacity work also matters, since some reviewers complain about lag. We can’t confirm it fixed that problem, but it does show Projul is spending money on reliability.

Projul Pros and Cons: What Real Users Say

Pros

  • Flat-rate pricing with no per-user fees and unlimited projects on every plan
  • Prices published online, unlike quote-only AccuLynx, JobNimbus and Buildertrend
  • Reviewers consistently praise the ease of use
  • Template-driven estimating that users say cuts build time and improves how bids look
  • Premium Support Package (valued at $4,500) included, with phone, email and video-chat support
  • Two-way QuickBooks sync for both Online and Desktop
  • Supplier connections with SRS, QXO (formerly Beacon), GAF and ABC Supply

Cons

  • Annual billing only, with no monthly option
  • No free trial advertised, only a demo
  • Reviewers say reporting needs improvement
  • Learning curve for less tech-savvy staff
  • Thin written knowledge base, since Projul is a newer product
  • Customization can be technically demanding
  • No roof-measurement integration listed
  • Job costing and QuickBooks Online require Core+; QuickBooks Desktop, Spanish translation and unlimited users require Pro

The outlier reviews. A minority of reviewers had a rough time. Some call Projul very expensive, say it doesn’t work as marketed or is always lagging, and warn about losing data after cancelling.

These complaints come from a minority of reviewers, and the reviews as a whole lean positive. Take onboarding seriously and use every hour of the included support package.

Projul vs AccuLynx, JobNimbus, and Roofr for Roofing Companies

Projul is a generalist platform. AccuLynx and Roofr are built around roofing. JobNimbus is a contractor CRM competing for the same roofing budgets. Here is how they line up on the facts we can verify.

Feature Projul AccuLynx JobNimbus Roofr
RSG Score 8.3 RSG Silver 9.1 RSG Gold 8.6 RSG Silver 9.3 RSG Gold ✓
Published pricing $4,788 to $14,388/yr, billed annually ✓ No, custom quote No, quote-based $0 to $349/mo billed monthly
Plan structure Core, Core+, Pro; no per-user fees Pro and Elite Essentials (up to 3), Pro (up to 10), Premium (up to 19), Enterprise (20+) Starter, Measure+, Essentials, Scale
Try before buying Demo only Ask sales 14-day trial, no credit card ✓ Free Starter plan

Projul vs AccuLynx

AccuLynx scores 9.1 (RSG Gold) against Projul’s 8.3. It is roofing-first, with AI lead ranking, a lead API and template estimates that include materials, measurements and margins. It sells its Pro and Elite plans on custom quote only.

If you run a roofing-only company and want software built around roofing, AccuLynx is the stronger pick. Projul wins if you want to know your bill before you ever talk to sales. See our AccuLynx review for the full breakdown.

Projul vs JobNimbus

JobNimbus scores 8.6 (RSG Silver). Its pricing is quote-based, with tiers capped by team size, and it offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Projul advertises no trial at all, only a demo.

Headcount is where the two diverge. A company that grows past 19 people gets pushed to JobNimbus Enterprise, while Projul Pro covers unlimited users at a published $14,388 a year. Projul also publishes a “Switching from JobNimbus” guide and includes data import in its support package.

Pick JobNimbus if you want to try the software before you pay. Pick Projul if you want a fixed, known annual bill. Our JobNimbus review goes deeper.

Projul vs Roofr

Roofr scores 9.3 (RSG Gold) and builds measurement into the platform. Reports cost $19 each on the free Starter plan and $13 on paid plans. Essentials costs $249 a month billed monthly, or $209 a month billed annually ($2,508 a year).

Projul’s edge is the construction management side: job costing, Gantt timelines and time tracking on Core+, plus supplier connections. If measurement and speed to proposal come first, Roofr is the better fit.

Who Should Use Projul, and Who Should Not

Projul is a good fit for:

  • Small to mid-size roofing and contracting teams that want an all-in-one platform with flat-rate, no per-user fees
  • Growing companies adding crew members, since the price doesn’t rise per seat within a plan
  • Teams that value hands-on, responsive support over deep self-serve documentation
  • Companies on QuickBooks that want two-way sync of invoices, payments and time entries

Projul is not ideal for:

  • Contractors who need advanced reporting and analytics, since reporting is a common complaint
  • Companies with unusual workflows that need heavy customization
  • Buyers who want a free trial or monthly billing before committing
  • Insurance-heavy storm shops that need built-in supplement tools or measurement integrations

If you have less tech-savvy staff, budget extra onboarding time. Reviewers say the platform is intuitive once you learn its workflow, but it isn’t instant.

Projul Alternatives: Top Competitors to Consider

If Projul isn’t the fit, these are the platforms we would look at next. The deciding question is whether you want roofing-specific depth or general contractor flexibility.

  • AccuLynx (9.1, RSG Gold): Roofing-native CRM with custom quote pricing. Best for roofing-only companies.
  • JobNimbus (8.6, RSG Silver): Quote-based pricing with user-capped tiers and a 14-day free trial.
  • Roofr (9.3, RSG Gold): Measurement reports built in, plus a free Starter plan.
  • Buildertrend (7.7, RSG Bronze): Custom quote only, with unlimited users and projects. Projul publishes its own Projul vs Buildertrend comparison, but Buildertrend’s quote-only pricing means you need a sales call before you can compare costs.

Weigh two things before you choose. First, how much of your revenue comes from insurance claims. Second, how complicated your crew scheduling gets across overlapping jobs. Our Projul alternatives roundup compares more options, and Roofing Software Guide has independent reviews of every tool listed here.

What Contractors Are Asking

“Can I pay monthly so I’m not stuck if it doesn’t work out?”

No. Projul bills annually only, and its FAQ says the company can’t currently offer a monthly option because it is self-funded. With no free trial advertised, push for a thorough demo and ask about data export before you sign.

“Does Projul pull roof measurements from EagleView or Hover?”

Not according to Projul’s integrations page, which lists no EagleView, Hover, Roofr or other measurement integration. The 1build connection runs AI takeoffs from uploaded plans, which helps more with new construction than reroofs. Keep your current measurement tool.

“Most of my crew works in Spanish. Which plan do I need?”

Spanish app translation appears only on Pro, at $14,388 a year. Core and Core+ don’t list it. If a bilingual app is non-negotiable for your crew, price your decision against Pro.

“We still run QuickBooks Desktop. Will it sync?”

Yes, but QuickBooks Desktop is listed on Pro and requires a setup call with Projul support. QuickBooks Online is on Core+ and connects from settings in about five minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Projul good for construction companies?

Yes, especially for small and mid-size contractors who want CRM, estimating, scheduling, invoicing and job costing on one platform. Projul serves residential, commercial and specialty contractors, from 5-person crews up to enterprises with more than 1,000 employees. Users praise its ease of use and support, while the main complaints are reporting gaps and a learning curve.

How much does Projul cost?

Core costs $4,788 a year, Core+ costs $7,188 a year, and Pro costs $14,388 a year, all billed annually with no per-user fees. There is no monthly option. Every plan includes the Premium Support Package, valued at $4,500, and veterans get 5% off.

What integrations does Projul support?

Projul lists QuickBooks Online (Core+), QuickBooks Desktop (Pro), CompanyCam, JustiFi payment processing, 1build AI takeoffs, and supplier connections with SRS, QXO (formerly Beacon), GAF and ABC Supply. Zapier connects Projul to thousands of other apps. No roof-measurement integration is listed.

Can I switch to Projul from another construction software?

Yes. The included Premium Support Package covers data import, and Projul publishes switching guides for Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Houzz Pro, JobNimbus, Procore and Jobber. Confirm exactly which records will move before your contract starts.

Does Projul support mobile devices?

Yes. Every plan includes a full-featured mobile app with photo capture, markup and galleries, plus mobile notifications. As of November 2025, you can attach photos to individual estimate cost lines from the app. Spanish translation is Pro only, and existing users sign in through the Log in link on projul.com.

What level of support does Projul offer?

Every annual plan includes white-glove onboarding, workflow analysis, system customization, a training plan, data import, and ongoing support by phone, email and video chat. Reviewers consistently praise Projul’s customer service. The written knowledge base is thinner than those of older products.

Who are the typical users of Projul?

Projul’s users include general contractors, remodelers, home builders and specialty trades such as roofing, siding, gutter and restoration contractors. Its customers range from 5-person crews to companies running hundreds of simultaneous projects.

Is Projul worth it or is it expensive?

For growing crews, a flat annual price beats per-user billing, and published prices make budgeting easy. Some reviewers still call it very expensive, and Core+ (the plan most roofers need) works out to $599 a month paid up front. It is worth it for multi-crew shops and a stretch for two-person operations.

Final Verdict: Is Projul Worth It for Roofers in 2026?

Our Projul review comes down to this: it is an easy-to-use, fairly priced project management platform that handles the business side of roofing well. Its strengths are template estimating, photos attached to cost lines, supplier connections, two-way QuickBooks sync and support that users rave about, all at a flat annual price you can see before a sales call.

The weaknesses are real. Reporting lags behind the rest of the product, customization takes work, there is no trial or monthly billing, and roofing-specific tools like measurement integrations and supplement workflows are missing. Most roofing companies should also budget for Core+, not Core.

If you’re a residential roofing company with two or more crews that wants one flat bill and strong support, get Projul on Core+. If you’re an insurance-heavy storm shop or want roofing-first software, get AccuLynx. If you’re a small retail roofer who lives on measurements and fast proposals, get Roofr. Check current pricing and book a demo directly with Projul before you commit to a year.

RSG Verdict

Get Projul if you want flat-rate project management with no per-user fees, published pricing and hands-on support for a growing roofing crew. Skip it if you need built-in measurements, supplement tools or monthly billing. Core+ at $7,188 a year is the plan most roofers should start on.
